  • 1950 - Roy Anderson went into a sawmill partnership with Gid Hollinsworth in Tompkinsville.

  • 1963 - Roy bought Hollinsworth's interest from his estate.

  • 1968 - Roy took on two partners.

  • 1978 - New circle mills increased production to 6,000,000' per year.

  • 1989 - David, Roy's son, comes to work at the mill after attending Western Kentucky University.

  • 1990 - Lowery, Roy's son, comes back to the mill after graduating from Centre College and Vanderbilt Law School and working at Brown, Todd & Heyburn in Louisville.

  • 1991 - Lowery and David establish Anderson Brothers Hardwoods, Inc. in Tompkinsville. David works at Anderson Brothers and Lowery stays at Roy Anderson Lumber. Anderson Brothers custom kiln dries lumber for Roy Anderson Lumber and other companies, starting with 200,000' of kiln capacity, drying 4,000,000' per year.

  • 1993 - Roy Anderson fully retires.

  • 1994 - Lowery Anderson takes over management of Roy Anderson Lumber.

  • 1996 - Roy Anderson Lumber builds a bandmill, production begins to increase.

  • 2000 - The Andersons buy the partners' interest in Roy Anderson Lumber.

  • 2000 - East Anderson Hardwoods, LLC is purchased in Eubank, Kentucky. David takes over management of all Tompkinsville operations. Lowery manages East Anderson Hardwoods and sales for the entire group.

  • 2002 - Tompkinsville location adds an additional bandmill.

  • 2005 - The production capacity consists of two sawmills and two dry kiln facilities. Sawmill production totals 45,000,000' (110,000m3) per year. Lumber kiln dried is 25,000,000' (60,000m3) per year. Both sawmills are bandmills utilizing computerized production tools to maximize quality and value. The dry kilns hold 850,000 (2,000m3) per charge.
